The Biopharmaceutical Company Analyst will use their knowledge of the industry and their commercial insights to cover the financial performance, business development activities, and corporate strategies of the major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the global Life Sciences industry. Their analysis and insight will feed the Pharmaview product line, which tracks the portfolios, pipelines, and strategies of world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Researching, collating, and communicating information regarding companies, their corporate strategies, finances, licensing deals, product strategies, and portfolio risks
- Researching, collating, and communicating information regarding products and strategies within a company’s therapeutic areas
- Reviewing, prioritising, and analysing information gathered to produce in-depth quantitative and qualitative research to provide high quality analysis and insight for clients
- Drawing upon your expertise to make a real contribution to the development and production of key products
- Attending / participating in key corporate events to remain current on performance and issues of companies under coverage
- Sharing corporate insights with the media to raise the profile of the product line and company
The Candidate:
- Advanced degree, preferably MBA or PhD, and 3+ year’s experience in healthcare company analysis or financial journalism (pharmaceutical/biotech industries)
- Excellent understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry – with experience covering the major European pharmaceutical companies
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - able to share analysis and expertise in seminar/conference/customer settings
- Experience conducting financial statement analysis
- Able to present a commanding reputation in the marketplace, and who will thus be sought by clients for their views and perspectives
- Commercial, dynamic, driven, ‘can do’ attitude
- Willing to state opinions based on facts analysed
- Willing to provide information and insight for the benefit of the team
- Able to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, takes initiative
Excellent English writing skills are essential for this role.
